Despite all the hurdles that they might face while investing in India, the Japanese are very positive about investing in India and consider India as the land of opportunities.

According to Hiroshi Tsukamoto, president, Japan External Trade Organisation who was speaking at the 33rd joint meeting of India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee said that Japanese believed in long-term relationships and India is one of the closet allies of Japan.

Industry insiders believe that after investing heavily in China, the Japanese are looking at India now and in the last two-three years a more positive investment attitude is perceived.

Japan is India's fourth largest source for foreign direct investment. Japanese industry observers feel that mutual trade between the two countries will rise as India has political transparency and a neutral sentiment towards Japan.
