Observing that India is one the biggest growing markets for the aviation sector, both Airbus and Boeing are going all out to woo the Indian companies into buying their aircraft carriers.
Worldwide sales figures for Boeing are now climbing far higher than Airbus. But, if the figures are any indication, India could be going in more the Airbus way.
Meanwhile, Boeing is claiming the cream of the Indian market, and not numbers alone. It has 487 aircraft orders in the first half of this year, compared to 439 last year. Airbus orders in the meantime have slumped from 276 to 117.
Both the companies are trying to establish a good market before the boom period expires. According to Indian aviation experts, rising fuel and salary costs, limited airport capacities and unsustainable fares - all this might fail many growth projections from the recent boom period.
